If you’ve ever considered a vacation to a tropical island, but didn’t want anything too foreign or different to what you’re used to, then consider holidaying in Hawaii. Hawaii vacations are easily booked and even easier to take – simply pack your best costume and grab your passport and tickets!

Hawaii actually refers to a state of the United States of America, and is a group of islands (or archipelago) in the Pacific Ocean. There are hundred of islands in total, but only the islands to the far south east are the best known and visited – Oahu, Maui, Kauai, Niihau, Molokai, Kahoolawe, Lanai (an island devoid of traffic lights) and Haiwaa (also called ‘The Big Island’ to distinguish it from the state as a whole). The capital of Hawaii is Honolulu, located on the island of Oahu, at Honolulu Harbour.

Whether you’re visiting Hawaii for the surf (which, by the way is brilliant) or simply to relax, there is a plethora of things to do in and around the islands that are sure to keep you entertained for the entire time you’re there – and keep you coming back for more. After flying into Honolulu International Airport, you can access any of the other islands and plan your vacation as you go, or map it out from home before you even book your tickets.

When people think of Cuba they mostly think of Fidel Castro and cigars. But there is so much more to Cuba than a dictator and smoking. I found when I booked a Cuba holiday and went there a few years ago that Cuba is a land of many influences. It has been affected by the many peoples who have inhabited it over the centuries, from the natives to the Spanish and the proximity to America. All have combined to leave an impact on Cuba and it’s culture.

When travelling to Cuba it helps to research online and find the best Cuba flights for your budget. Do you want something in a package, combined with accommodation? Or do you just want the plane ticket and you’ll find somewhere to sleep when you get there?

Consider the type of accommodation you want. Cuba hotels are many and varied, so do your homework before booking – do you want something inland or coastal? Do you want budget or five star? Do you want to stay on the main island of Cuba, or one of the smaller islands? Make sure you decide before you book, as you don’t want any unpleasant surprises that may make your holiday memorable for all the wrong reasons.

When you are planning your vacation on a luxury cruise, it is important to pack properly to keep your vacation relaxing and free of stress.

Try to pack articles of clothing that are versatile. For instance, a long skirt can be paired with a blazer for a formal lunch or a sequined tank for a night on the dance floor.

There are nights that are referred to as formal on most luxury cruises. However, these are not completely formal. Bring clothes that you would be comfortable wearing to a wedding and you should be fine. If you so choose, it is possible to avoid formal wear the entire length of your trip. Take a nap at dinnertime and enjoy the midnight buffet or have room service on formal night.

Most cruises offer some form of laundry service to its passengers. You may be better off to pack less clothes and plan to do a wash during your vacation to avoid taking too many clothes. If you bring fewer clothes with you, you will have more room for souvenir hats, gifts and t-shirts.

One of the most important questions you must ask yourself when you are planning for your luxury vacation cruise is “What am I going to wear?” There are so many things to do on a luxury cruise. There is sophisticated formal dining as well as informal casual dining. You may need a bathing suit and other poolside attire. You may want to take in a show or participate in an activity. You will also need clothing for getting off the ship when it stops at ports. It is a good idea to ask an agent for the cruise for packing suggestions.

You will most likely be flying to the port where the ship is docked. So, before you pack anything, check with your local airport and TSA for a list of all of the rules and regulations for traveling on an airplane. Once you are familiar with all of the prohibitions, you are ready to start packing.

You will be able to purchase some items on the ship, but usually at a much higher than normal price. Therefore, it is best to take some things with you, such as your camera. Film can be quite expensive, so you may want to invest in a digital camera, which is a great way to save space.
